Perfect Gravy

submitted by and thanks to Fabian Chizmadia

This is my recipe for perfect gravy every time. Even the most culinary inept can make a wonderful, perfect gravy evey time!

  • 3 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1/3 cup cold water
  • 3 teaspoons Better Than Boullion

Combine in a small container with a lid; plastic or a jar with a screw-on lid. Add 3 t. Better Than Boullion to 1 2/3 cup simmering water.

Shake water and corn starch. Pour small amounts into simmering stock while wisking or using a spatula in a circular fashion into all parts of your liquid. YOU MUST BE PATIENT or the gravy will gel, and no one likes that.

The recipe can be adapted for different things like stroganoff; adding 2 tablespoons ketchup during cooking and 1 cup sour cream after thickening..OR for a stew, adding bay leafs at the begining; OR adding pepper, garlic, and parsley at the end.

That's it..the base recipe for gravy with a total amount of 1 1/2 cup liquid! If you want more gravy, make more of this mixture.
