It's no secret that a lot of modern-day journalism content uses AI to assist and create content. This blog is no exception: Creative Cooking with AI began as an experiment to learn how to use ChatGPT and other AI chatbots. What I personally learned in the early stages left me astounded with the ability to rapidly generate ideas, content, and then to format that content into various styles.

I use chatbots a lot to generate topics, ideas, and content.  Text and images (espeically images) are generated using AI with the intent of creating a worthwhile platform and provider of culinary-related ideas, news, and information.

Granted, I sometimes wonder if the chatbots that I use to help develop articles are simply sending to me stuff that I like. Then I realize that I don't always like what they send to me! The exercise for me has led to more experimentation, a stronger ability to clarify outcomes, and a greater understanding of proper use of AI. I didn't expect that I would also have an underlying "fear" that would pop up from time to time, as I learned what AI could do if kept unchecked.

There are a lot of people that are concerned about AI's ability to generate what appears to be authentic text, and rightly so. There's as much room for legitimate use of AI as there is room for abuse of AI. Remember that AI is a tool--it can be used, it can be abused. It can be helpful, it can be harmful. The real measure is like any other dangerous tool: it's the human in charge.  Knowing the real source can help you answer the key question:  "Is it news, or is it noise?"
